The Empty Sky – a poem by Caty Matthews

My daughter left this poem for me this morning with a note that said not to read it until I reached New York. I wanted to share it with all of you.

The Empty Sky

Of all the days to not forget

One stands in memory immortal yet

Emotion rains upon her soil

Stained so red with soldiers toil

And in the white rose blooms a day

In which our enemies done away

And hope a beacon of our strife

Connected strands of life to life

A thousand angels flying by

Across the empty cloudless sky

– Caty Matthews

Never Forget.
